Good news. DNA 11 is coming to NY again this year. We have been invited to participate in the Soho WIRED store for the second year in a row. This time we’re partnering with American Express to offer card holders a special discount. Stay tuned. I think the store will be launching in mid November. I love the whole concept of pop-up stores. The store is only open until December 24th and then it closes its doors until the next holiday season. If you want to see a video (from last year) of the store and the editor of WIRED talking about our art visit RocketBoom.  See video here.

Last night we celebrated our first year in business with 300 of our closest friends in our home town of Ottawa, Canada. The event was really two events in one. The reception was at Roche Bobois(and the after party was held at Restaurant 18). Many thanks to Roche Bobois for providing the perfect environment and hosting the reception. We went through 60 bottles of Champagne and the food was fantastic. Bacardi poured hundreds of Mojitos at the after-party and even had a special ice sculpture made for us. We also raised some money for Children’s Wish Foundation– our goal will be to help make a kid’s dream come true this year.

CBC Venture was there to interview us for a segment that should be airing sometime this fall. Apparently they have over 700,000 viewers so it should be interesting. Keep an eye out for it if you’re in Canada.

Many thanks to DWELL Magazine, Holt Renfrew, Hugo Boss, Preston Catalogue, Meditheo Restaurant, and Nordique Spa for providing the goodies for the giftbags.

Finally- many, many thanks to my girlfriend Ania, Cecilia Graham (for her event planning), Emily B. for taking care of collecting donations, Dana for helping us with security. Jeremy Bourassa was busy all night taking pictures of the event. If you’re looing for a great event photographer e-mail him here.

I’ll be posting more pictures soon….

Welcome to our new blog. I decided to set up this blog to keep our friends and clients from around the world up to date with what we’re up to. The past year has been very exciting. It’s hard to believe that it’s been one year since we had the crazy idea making art from DNA. What started off as a “passion project” has become a full time obsession and a profitable company. We’re having a blast and we want to share this adventure with all of you. Please share your comments, ideas, and feel free to ask us questions.
