Last weekend DNA 11 co-founders Nazim Ahmed and Adrian Salamunovic headed to New York City for the grand opening of the of WIRED’s annual pop-up retail store.

By all measures it was a huge success. Hundreds of guided tours, piles of media and  a great wrap up party co-hosted by our friends of 944 Magazine ensured we went out with a bang!  We made lots of fantastic friends in Los Angeles and we’ll be back soon.

Here are some of the pictures from the DNA 11 / 944 Magazine event. Many thanks to GreenSUV for providing the transportation, HOPE Wines for supplying the wine, Poixen (for the delicious pisco sours) Carly Harill from 944 for helping to coordinate everything and of course our PR firm RF-PR.

A couple of weeks ago the 2nd Annual ROFLCon took place in New York City. It’s a conference dedicated to Internet culture and some of the biggest Internet celebrities came out for the weekend convention… of course there’s always a big party and tons of fun to be had!

This year Alexis Ohanion, co-founder of reddit.com and breadpig, set up an auction on eBay with a DNA Mini Portrait of all the Internet celebs who came out over the weekend. They’re calling it ROFLDNA and it’s in support of a great charity, Child’s Play.  The portrait will be a mash-up of all the celebrities’ DNA and will have all their signatures.

Looks like they had a blast… check out a few pics below of the DNA collection process and some of the signatures you’ll see on the final piece of DNA Art.

Whoa!  Way too many events last month. We just got back from a very cool all-night Toronto art show on Saturday called Nuit Blanche. We were part of the French Pavilion and we displayed our art with our partners Roche Bobois. I brought my camera but unfortunately I forgot my flash memory card!  Lots of interesting sites. Highlights included models in French lingerie walking around, Ligne Rosette couches being stacked into sculptures like gigantic Lego blocks, a pyramid made of Baccarat Champaign glasses, and a Smart Car with a camo motif. We also managed to snag a couple of limited edition Evian water bottles that were shaped like Christmas trees but someone “borrowed” them when we weren’t looking. Amazing event. We can’t wait for next year. Our only regret is not getting a chance to visit the 100 other exhibitors that were spread across the city.

Last night we celebrated our first year in business with 300 of our closest friends in our home town of Ottawa, Canada. The event was really two events in one. The reception was at Roche Bobois(and the after party was held at Restaurant 18). Many thanks to Roche Bobois for providing the perfect environment and hosting the reception. We went through 60 bottles of Champagne and the food was fantastic. Bacardi poured hundreds of Mojitos at the after-party and even had a special ice sculpture made for us. We also raised some money for Children’s Wish Foundation- our goal will be to help make a kid’s dream come true this year.

 CBC Venture was there to interview us for a segment that should be airing sometime this fall. Apparently they have over 700,000 viewers so it should be interesting. Keep an eye out for it if you’re in Canada.
